Offsite Fabrication & Modularization

Aecon’s substantial fabrication and modularization capacity, combined with our ability to efficiently utilize multiple facilities across the continent, is a significant advantage when undertaking large scale projects. Aecon operates over 300,000 sq ft of shop space across North America – producing up to 1,000,000 inches of weld per year on pipe spools of all configurations and all materials.

Aecon has produced everything from super modules to small skid units for projects such as mines, power generation, oil and gas, water treatment, chemical and petrochemical facilities. Our modular construction experts work with engineers to maximize what can be built offsite to reduce project risks, shorten construction schedules, minimize labour required on-site and promote cost certainty.

Enbridge Pipeline Facilities

Aecon has been an Alliance Partner to Enbridge for pipeline facilities construction across Canada since 2005 having constructed over 50 facilities projects.

SaskPower Boundary Dam Carbon Capture

Aecon constructed this first-of-a-kind power station to enable the successful use of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology.

Northland Power Solar Projects

Aecon was the EPC contractor for nine 10 MW AC solar parks. Construction, substation and utility interconnect work was all self performed.

District 1 Middle-Mile Broadband

An Aecon joint venture is installing 210 miles of middle-mile broadband network and repeater hubs in California. The project is delivering broadband to unserved and under-served communities, creating affordable open-access broadband infrastructure, and enabling network connectivity and equitable high-speed service.

Endako Molybdenum Mine

Aecon installed process equipment along with the associated piping, electrical, instrumentation and interior structural steel for the ore storage, grinding, floatation, regrind and tailings systems.

Suncor Firebag III Central Plant Facility

Aecon constructed two 80 MW Cogens that produce steam and electrical power to support a large oilsands mine.

Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant
